Pictured standing proudly at the entrance to their premises in the first decade of the 20th century are innkeeper James Tompkins and his Scottish wife Isabella, along with their daughter Margaret. There were two sons of the family as well, but they would have been at their work as a farm labourer and carpenter when the photograph was taken.
