‘Please to remember the fifth of November, With gunpowder, treason and plot’ – or, in this case, the fourth of November when the primary school’s PTA will be hosting its traditional Fireworks Night fundraiser. Sadly, no bonfire, ashy half-cooked potatoes or parkin but great fireworks, barbecued sausages and burgers, sweets and, of course, glow toys, all in a very good cause. CD
