Parish Show 2024
The Annual Parish Show took place in Deddington Church on Saturday 31 August, a lovely sunny day. It was a hive of activity during the morning with people bringing and displaying their entries, followed by the judging and soon the doors were opened to the public for them to admire and be inspired for next year!
The committee were delighted with the number of entries, after a slow start in the run-up to the day. Although the Vegetables and Fruit sections were somewhat depleted due to the mixed weather in the growing season, the Cookery section and Flowers were as busy as usual and the crafts, including Art and Photography, gave a splendid show. As usual the children excelled themselves and showed their artistic flair in all categories.
The committee would like to express their sincere gratitude to everyone who helped in setting up the previous day, throughout the show day and of course the task of taking everything down at the end and getting the Church ready for Sunday Service. The Show literally couldn’t happen without the support of the village – both in people participating and those who run the bottle and cake stalls, raffle, tea and cakes, the runners, stewards, judges and of course we were treated to the fantastic Brass Band playing throughout the show! Special thanks to Vicar Nick and his wife Vicky for presenting the trophies and raffle prizes. We are very grateful to our sponsors and local businesses for providing the wonderful array of raffle prizes. Profits from the day will be donated to local causes as usual.
See you next year!
