Major Lloyd (1892-1965) had a remarkable military career through WWI, Russian revolution, military attaché in Latvia, Far East postings and then military attaché again in WWII in Tehran where he was involved in foiling a German plot to blow up the axis leaders at the Tehran conference.

He came to live in Deddington because of its central position for hunting, shooting and fishing which were his big loves until he fell off his horse in 1965 and later died in hospital.
