Parliament clock - pre restoration

Parliament Clocks were public service wall clocks erected by various institutions - notably taverns - following the 1797 introduction of a British clock tax.They were also hung in churches. The biblical inscription on this one implies that this may have been where it was hung. The bas reliefs on the movement case door are not original. Now under restoration.
